من نرم افزار TPOرو روی سیستمم نصب کردم اما متاسفانه نمیتونم listening و بخش شنیداری مربوط به writing ها رو گوش کنم چرا که اصلا پخش نمیکنه و مجبورم میکنه از سایت ها اونها رو گوش بدم. خیلی توی اینترنت سرچ کردم اما جایی راه حلی براش نبود. ممکنه شما کمکم کنید تا مشکلم رفع بشه لطفا؟

من و همسرم برای کلاس رایتینگ ثبت نام کردیم، برای مهارت اسپیکینگ، ریدینگ، لیسنینگ هم تمایل به ثبت نام داریم، منتها با توجه به شاغل بودنمان تنها برای ساعت 5به بعد (شنبه تا چهارشنبه) و روز پنجشنبه امکان حضور در کلاس داریم، اگر امکانش هست ساعت کلاس اسپیکینگ فعلی که 96/5/25 تشکیل می شود را عوض کنید یا کلاسی برگزار کنید که شاغلین هم بتونن استفاده کنند.

علاوه بر گزینه 2 گزینه 4 هم غلط است. درسته؟ گزینه 4 باید اصلاح بشه به much more serious than WHAT we thought at first.... درسته؟
همینطور در مورد این تست:
45. Which sentence is grammatically wrong?
1. It was such boring film that I fell asleep while I was watching it.
2. I managed to get to sleep, although there was a lot of noise.
3. Please arrive early so that we can start the meeting on time.
4. Some things are too small to see without a microscope.
باز به نظر میاد علاوه بر گزینه 1 گزینه 4 هم غلط باشه که باید اصلاح بشه به: too small to be seen....

در جمله اول، what ضروری نیست. در تست 2 هم، به صورت غیر رسمی استفاده میشه ولی به نظر من هم غلطه این نوع گرامر.

استاد عبارت to type در جمله زیر (و مصدرهای با toی دیگه که کلا در سایر جملات مشابه بعد از اسم میان) کدوم یکی از post modifier ها محسوب میشه؟ یا اصلا جزء post modifierها نیست؟

As I remember, when producing relative clauses, we have to omit the repeated noun and replace it with a proper relative pronoun. We have such correct sentences like below, still, in which the repeated nouns are not omitted:
-He is such an artist that everyone likes to see ''him''.
-It's such a good film that I'd like to see ''it'' again.
Could you please explain the reason why "him" and "it" are not omitted? Can we say that it is due to using "such" in main clauses? Or maybe we can say above-mentioned "that clauses" describe not "he" and "it', but "artist" and "film"?

سلام جناب خادم ضمن تشکر از پاسخ های کامل شما خواستم بپرسم در کتاب شما در چند نمونه رایتینگ از عبارت are of great استفاده شده است که بیشتر در مقدمه رایتینگ به کار میرود. راستش من وجود of رو توی جمله درک نکردم. یک جمله از کتاب را برای روشن شدن موضوع قرار میدهم. among which having tha ability, being a good planner, and having a vast knowledge are of great importnace. همچنین در یک قسمت از رایتینگ آقای کنعانیان گفته شده : are most conspicuous ones. اگه توضیح دهید که معنی ones هم چی میشه ممنون میشوم.

سلام. of importance یعنی important. کلمه ones هم برمیگرده به اسم جمعی که قبل از خودش اومده.

به معنی مهم بودنه، یعنی از اهمیت بالا و قابل توجهی برخوردار بودن.
در مورد سئوال دومتون هم ones اینجا ضمیره که برای جلوگیری از تکرار اسم قبلی اش اومده. یعنی «... مشهودترین هاشون هستند».

سلام. نه. هفتاشون کاما نیاز دارن. چون نیاز به اون adj clause ها برای مشخص شدن ندارن. اگه کاما بیاد، همشون restrictive میشن که معنیشون خیلی بد میشه.

و دیگه این که توی آخری که گفتید درسته، مگه قرار نبود بین subject و predicate کاما نگذاریم مگر در حالتی که nonrestrictive adj clause داشته باشیم، پس جرا اینجا قبل از are کاما باید بگذاریم؟ :(

سلام استاد، در پاسخنامه جزوه برای نوشتن موصولی های سئوال زیر زمان از حال به گذشته تغییر کرده (is شده was). این کار ضرورتا باید انجام بشه یا شاید هم یه اشکال تایپی ئه؟

As I promised to put a brief analysis of today’s TOEFL exam, I will write down the topics of today’s test and my personal opinion about it.
The reading part’s topics were as follows:
1. Group foraging of primates
2. The Terracotta Army sculptures (the famous sculptures made in the Chinese empire)
3. The first evidences of domestication and farming
4. The Indo-European languages
The listening part’s lectures’ topics were as follows:
1. A historic map of America
2. Finding a specific form of Carbon in the space

4. The importance of microclimates for reptiles
The speaking part’s topics were as follows:
1. If you want to present your country to foreigners, which aspect would you choose to talk about? History, art and culture, geography
2. A factory is going to be opened in your neighbor. Do you think it is advantageous or not?
3. An announcement about an open day in the campus gym, for encouraging students to exercise more.
4. A phenomenon about plants of species, which do not grow similarly in order to survive

The writing part’s topics were as follows:

In my opinion the exam was as difficult as 40 to 48 TPOs. It had a long format reading part, which was helpful in my opinion, because at first having completely focus on the exam is difficult, and as a result, four passages is better than three. The listening had some tricky questions.
Regarding Amirbahador complex, I should advocate their equipment and discipline, however, I think that their instructions about the test were not enough. I haven’t had a test before, therefore I was not familiar with the procedure of exam and its break time, in addition to the possible distractions of other test takers. I think that experiencing a test in the same environment before the main exam can help noticeably.

من فکر کردم بیشتر و الان به نظرم 121 درسته ولی مشکل دیگه ای وجود دارد و اونم اینکه برای مخالفت توی این موارد جملات غیرساده فقط یک حالت مخالفت وجود ندارد. یعنی هم به هر clause میشه جداگانه ارزش داد و هم به حرف ربطش. ولی یک حالت موافقت وجود دارد. محافظه کارانه است که موافق بود همیشه. ولی سوالم همچنان هست که از این حالتهای زیر کدامش مد نظر طراح است.(فارسی نوشتم منظورم رو درست برسونم.ببخشید)
مخالف 1 : آموزش بچه ها سختتر شده(موافقم) چون (مخالفم) وقتشون رو پای اینترنت میگذرونند (موافقم)
بنابراین باید دلیل مخالفتش با چون رو بنویسد یعنی بنویسه چرا فکر میکنه دلیلش این نیست. (مثلا من نوشتم که دلیلِ سختتر شدن آموزش و اینکه وقتشون رو پای اینترنت میگذارن چیزهای دیگه ای است و در هر پاراگراف توضیحشون دادم. یعنی گفتم این دوتا معلولِ یک سری علتِ دیگه اند.)

Hi everyone. I already mentioned some of the points having to do with the last exercise in the responses given to your friends. However, an im portant point was left. In his book "Verbal Advantage: Ten Easy Steps to a Powerful Vocabulary", Charles Harrington Elster beautifully explains the difference.
"To lie means to rest, recline, be situated. You lie on a bed, rest there, recline on it.
To lay means to put, place, set. You lay a book on a table, put or set it there; you lay your head on a pillow, place it on the pillow. Whatever you
can put down you can also lay down. You can lay something down, but you can't lay down, rest, recline. You can lie down, but you can't lie something
down. That's simple, right?
Now, here's where it gets a bit tricky.

من در استفاده از کلمه tend to مشکل دارم. مثلا آیا این جمله درست هست یا خیر؟ برای paraphrase در نوشتن یک مقاله مجبور به استفاده از tend to به جایی usually شدم.
جمله فارسی: معمولا در مطالعات الکتروشیمیایی از سیستم سه الکترودی استفاده می شود.

Hi everybody. I write the answers in English to avoid the problem we have with the writing style.
The difference between "in order to" and "so that/in order that" can be explained through some examples.
1. I am doing my best in order to pass the test.
2. I am doing so that/in order that I can pass the test.
3. I am doing my best so that/in order that my children can live a better life.
When the subject of both verbs "do one's best" and "pass" are the same, both "in order to and so that/in order that" are correct. When the subjects are different "I" and "my children", we can only use "so that/in order that. Therefore, in example 3, we cannot use "in order to".
"Up to " is used to say that something is less than or equal to, but not more than a stated value, number, or level. Thus, "up to 10%" shows that the number may have been 1,2, 3, ..., and now it is at most 10%.
The phrase "increased by 10%" shows that up to 10% has been added to the previous number. For example, if the number is 40, and it is increased by 10%, the final number will be 44. If the number is 100, and it is increased by 10%, then the final number will be 110.

سلام جناب خادم، نظر من اینه که بخش تبادل نظر رو به فرمت یک فروم دربیارید مثل سایت Applyabroad یا شبیه Yahoo Answers فقط Q&A باشه. اینطوری خیلی راحت میشه سوال رو به عنوان یک تاپیک جدید مطرح کنید و دوستان بیان جواب هاشون رو تو همون تاپیک بدن. خودتون بهتر میدونید که خیلی مزایا داره از جمله نظم بالاتر و امکان جستجو بین تاپیک ها. چون من احساس میکنم تعداد کامنت های این بخش به زودی صدها کامنت میشه و به کل از نظم خارج خواهد شد. تعداد زیادی فروم ساز رایگان فارسی هم در اینترنت هست از جمله vBulletin که حتما طراح ساییتون خبر داره. این فروم ها دیگه مشکل راست چین و چپ چین بودن رو هم ندارن.

Which sentence is grammatically wrong? 1. It was such boring film that I fell asleep while I was watching it. 2. I managed to get to sleep, although there was a lot of noise. 3. Please arrive early so that we can start the meeting on time. 4. Some things are too small to see without a microscope. باز به نظر میاد علاوه بر گزینه 1 گزینه 4 هم غلط باشه که باید اصلاح بشه به: too small to be seen.... ممنون استاد جان.
در جمله اول، what ضروری نیست. در تست 2 هم، به صورت غیر رسمی استفاده میشه ولی به نظر من هم غلطه این نوع گرامر.
سلام استاد استاد عبارت to type در جمله زیر (و مصدرهای با toی دیگه که کلا در سایر جملات مشابه بعد از اسم میان) کدوم یکی از post modifier ها محسوب میشه؟ یا اصلا جزء post modifierها نیست؟ She had so many letters to type that she couldn’t leave the office early. ممنون.

We have such correct sentences like below, still, in which the repeated nouns are not omitted: -He is such an artist that everyone likes to see ''him''. -It's such a good film that I'd like to see ''it'' again. Could you please explain the reason why "him" and "it" are not omitted? Can we say that it is due to using "such" in main clauses? Or maybe we can say above-mentioned "that clauses" describe not "he" and "it', but "artist" and "film"? Best regards, Raha

سلام جناب خادم ضمن تشکر از پاسخ های کامل شما خواستم بپرسم در کتاب شما در چند نمونه رایتینگ از عبارت are of great استفاده شده است که بیشتر در مقدمه رایتینگ به کار میرود. راستش من وجود of رو توی جمله درک نکردم. یک جمله از کتاب را برای روشن شدن موضوع قرار میدهم. among which having tha ability, being a good planner, and having a vast knowledge are of great importnace. همچنین در یک قسمت از رایتینگ آقای کنعانیان گفته شده : are most conspicuous ones. اگه توضیح دهید که معنی ones هم چی میشه ممنون میشوم.
سلام. of importance یعنی important. کلمه ones هم برمیگرده به اسم جمعی که قبل از خودش اومده.

سلام. با توجه به این که یادم افتاد این جا رو استاد گذاشته بود که همه بیایم اظهار نظر کنیم، با اجازتون من فعلا نظر می دم، حالا اگه استاد بعدا اومدن تأیید، تکمیل یا اصلاح کنند :)) to be of great/considerable/high/enormous/... importance به معنی مهم بودنه، یعنی از اهمیت بالا و قابل توجهی برخوردار بودن. در مورد سئوال دومتون هم ones اینجا ضمیره که برای جلوگیری از تکرار اسم قبلی اش اومده. یعنی «... مشهودترین هاشون هستند».

من فکر کردم بیشتر و الان به نظرم 121 درسته ولی مشکل دیگه ای وجود دارد و اونم اینکه برای مخالفت توی این موارد جملات غیرساده فقط یک حالت مخالفت وجود ندارد. یعنی هم به هر clause میشه جداگانه ارزش داد و هم به حرف ربطش. ولی یک حالت موافقت وجود دارد. محافظه کارانه است که موافق بود همیشه. ولی سوالم همچنان هست که از این حالتهای زیر کدامش مد نظر طراح است.(فارسی نوشتم منظورم رو درست برسونم.ببخشید) مخالف 1 : آموزش بچه ها سختتر شده(موافقم) چون (مخالفم) وقتشون رو پای اینترنت میگذرونند (موافقم) بنابراین باید دلیل مخالفتش با چون رو بنویسد یعنی بنویسه چرا فکر میکنه دلیلش این نیست. Hi everyone. I already mentioned some of the points having to do with the last exercise in the responses given to your friends. However, an im portant point was left. In his book "Verbal Advantage: Ten Easy Steps to a Powerful Vocabulary", Charles Harrington Elster beautifully explains the difference. "To lie means to rest, recline, be situated. You lie on a bed, rest there, recline on it. To lay means to put, place, set. You lay a book on a table, put or set it there; you lay your head on a pillow, place it on the pillow. Whatever you can put down you can also lay down. You can lay something down, but you can't lay down, rest, recline. You can lie down, but you can't lie something down. That's simple, right? Now, here's where it gets a bit tricky. The past tense of lie is lay: “Last night I lay in bed.” It is wrong to say that you laid in bed, because laid is the past tense of the verb to lay, which means to put, place. When the subject of both verbs "do one's best" and "pass" are the same, both "in order to and so that/in order that" are correct. سلام جناب خادم، نظر من اینه که بخش تبادل نظر رو به فرمت یک فروم دربیارید مثل سایت Applyabroad یا شبیه Yahoo Answers فقط Q&A باشه. اینطوری خیلی راحت میشه سوال رو به عنوان یک تاپیک جدید مطرح کنید و دوستان بیان جواب هاشون رو تو همون تاپیک بدن. خودتون بهتر میدونید که خیلی مزایا داره از جمله نظم بالاتر و امکان جستجو بین تاپیک ها. چون من احساس میکنم تعداد کامنت های این بخش به زودی صدها کامنت میشه و به کل از نظم خارج خواهد شد. تعداد زیادی فروم ساز رایگان فارسی هم در اینترنت هست از جمله vBulletin که حتما طراح ساییتون خبر داره. این فروم ها دیگه مشکل راست چین و چپ چین بودن رو هم ندارن. موفق باشید.
